Shpongle - Are You Shpongled?

Shpongle is the interstellar joint venture of psychonautic soundprofessor Simon Posford, formerly known as Hallucinogen, and Raja Ram, one of the founders of 1200 Micrograms. Together they've been rocking the psychedelic party chillouts, homebuilt shamanistic healing huts and spaced out ethnic freaky dancefloors ever since their debut 'Are You Shpongled?' was released.

Simon Posford had already built up a proper reputation with his Hallucinogen releases on one of the leading psychedelic trance labels, Twisted Records from the UK, the founder of which is Simon himself. Raja Ram is a trained flute player. After a long musical break, the man originally known as Ronald Rothfield became interested in electronic music. He started the well-known goa label TIP in 1994.
Shpongle is one of the coolest musical adventures you're ever going to hear! It contains all the psychedelic extremes that we love so much from our entheogenic journeys. Some songs are hilarious, others are tribal and otherworldly, still others are serious, serene and transformative... The list goes on and on, covering a wide range of cosmic wick-wacks and unearthly jiggedeewops.
It's hard to describe their music, as every track contains a mix of ethnic and unearthly influences. Some parts sound like Latin, others like psytrance, still others like triphop or ragas, but it keeps changing and transforming into other stuff all the time. The musical creativity with which the chords and arrangements for this mishmash are crafted is phenomenal and one of a kind, so check out the previews now. Let's get Shpongled!

“If you consider yourself to be a psychonaut, or if you want to become one, then this album is a must-have. It's a musical revelation and sometimes I think it can't be made by human beings. I guess the machine elves helped a lot in creating these unbelievable pieces of music ;) ”
